Cardiac Echo

Working with the Mater Cardiology team, we identified an urgent need for two portable Cardiac ECHO machines, used to screen patients with potential heart conditions.

Thanks to our supporters in 2022, we were able to meet this need and provide funding to equip the hospital with new state-of-the-art cardiac screening technology.

These new portable machines, which are the first of their kind in the Mater, support frontline staff in providing the best possible care for patients and are having a transformative effect on cardiac care.

This new equipment enables staff to provide more efficient and effective care to patients, and the portable nature of the devices allows the cardiac team to scan at the bedside.

With these two new Cardiac ECHOs in situ, the hospital now has the capacity to test an additional 3,000 patients each year. This will help to address both immediate backlogs and build long-term capacity into the system.
