Dublin Airport Authority

daa supporting Mater patients

How daa’s charity partnership brings its team together and makes a lasting impact for its community.

Ann Fagan is a member of Dublin Airport Authority’s security team. Her mother, Rita, was cared for in the Mater during the final weeks of her life. Ann was very grateful for the care her mum and family received and wanted to help other families get the same level of care.

Each year, the company’s employees select the charities that benefit, before embarking on a wide range of fundraising activities, over the course of the following twelve months. As a cause that cares for daa’s local community, we were delighted to be chosen as a charity partner by its team, after Ann had put us forward.

The daa team raised an incredible €130,000 that will make a lasting difference to our patients and their families for years to come, funding vital life-saving equipment needed by our doctors and nurses.

Cathy Burke, Head of Internal Communications says, “daa was delighted to support The Mater Foundation – one of our charity partners for 2022. Our Charity of the Year programme is an employee led initiative, which came into operation in 2007.

“Since then, 30 charities have benefited from over €3.4 million, and we are very proud of every member of daa who has played a part in bringing the programme to where it is today.

“We would like to wish The Mater Foundation continued success with its critical fundraising endeavours and were honoured to present it with a cheque for €130,000, following the phenomenal fundraising activities of our team and kind donations from our passengers.”
