This nationwide initiative invites participants to walk, jog, or run a collective 100 miles during February, all with the aim of raising vital funds for life‑saving cardiac care at the Mater Public Hospital.
While registrations for this year’s event have now closed, supporters are still warmly encouraged to donate and support participants making their way through this month‑long endurance and fundraising challenge.
This challenge directly supports the Foundation’s mission to provide advanced, life‑saving services through modern equipment and essential technologies, ensuring timely, effective care for patients with critical heart conditions.
Participants determine their own pace and can complete their miles by walking, jogging or running, or a combination of all three if they so choose.
Did you know?: 100 miles is approximately 160.9 kilometres, or just over 5 kilometres a day.
Many join to honour loved ones, support the hospital that cared for them and/or set a meaningful goal for the start of the new year.
This year, we featured a new t-shirt design which ran out of stock in record time! We’re deeply grateful for the interest and excitement around the shirt and look forward to seeing everyone who is taking part sport the new style.
At the end of the challenge, those who successfully complete all 100 miles and meet the minimum fundraising requirement will receive a bespoke completion medal. This medal serves as a lasting reminder of their dedication to improving cardiac care at the Mater Hospital.
Improving Cardiac Care, One Mile at a Time
Funds raised through the 100 Miles in a Month Challenge make a direct and lasting impact on the Mater Hospital’s cardiac services.
The challenge helps improve patient care by funding state-of-the-art equipment and speeds up diagnoses and treatment.
Not only does the initiative strengthen patient care in the Mater Hospital, it also encourages participants to invest in their own heart health. Walking, jogging, or running 100 miles in February benefits both participants and the broader healthcare system by promoting long‑term cardiovascular wellness.
