The Mater Hospital is the specialist centre for spinal injuries, heart and lung transplants, cardiac and breast screening and cancer care in Ireland. When you decide to compete in this race for the Mater Foundation, you’re supporting the hospital patients who need your incredible support.

The Dún Laoghaire Ironman triathlon begins with a swim from Sandycove through the Irish sea, followed by a spectacular and challenging bike course through the Wicklow Mountains and the beautiful lakes and rivers of the Garden County. You will run along the coast, taking in the view, as you make it back to Dún Laoghaire for some Scrumdiddly ice-cream!

The Mater Foundation is here to help you put the googles on, the bike shoes clipped in and the water into you for your run. We’ll send you motivational material about how you’re helping patients to get you out training and raising those funds. We know you can often do this without out us, but we can’t improve patient lives without you – so we’re always at the end of the phone or email to guide you through your fundraising.
