Over the years the Mater Foundation has awarded grants to students to carry out research. In 2004/05 €100,000 was awarded, below is just some of the areas grants were awarded to.
Centre For Liver Disease:
- An Investigation of Hepatitis C Virus Infection at Transcriptome level by Comparative Gene Expression Analysis
- Expression of Human and Duodenal Iron Transport Genes in Hereditary Haemochromatosis.
- The Role of Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in the progression of Chronic Hepatitis C virus infection
- The use of a surrogate tissue to profile gene expression in chronic Hepatitis C infection
