Criticare Machines and Patient Comfort Chairs

Funds raised through an Art Exhibition, organised by Sr Gerard Egan and volunteers, were donated to the Mater Hospital for the purchase of much needed equipment for patient comfort and care.
The purchase of the comfortable chairs has allowed for the transfer of very ill patients in the Acute Cardiology Unit to X-Ray in a dignified manner. The chairs have proven their purpose so well that on occasions patients like to sleep in them.
The Mater Foundation has provided extra funds for the Unit which has enabled them to purchase Pumps, which give pain relief to some heart failure patients in their final days.
Criticare machines help the staff to attend to patients in a more efficient way, thus continuing the policy of the Hospital’s best practice and good nursing care.
