Heartworks’ Transthoracic Echo Simulator Offers a Classroom Experience Without a Human Heart!

Great Morning! Saw the Heartworks Echo Simulator in action. The Mater Foundation funded this simulator in 2010. It comprises of a mannequin torso, probe and visualization software. It enables trainee doctors to control a probe which gives real-time imaging of the virtual heart using a manikin.  Just incredible!!

The Mater Foundation Appraisal Committee

The Mater Foundation appraisal committee met today to allocate funds to the Mater Hospital. It is hoped that around €700,000 will be allocated to projects across all areas within the hospital. It is hoped the board will formally approve these within the next three weeks.

The Mater Foundation has limited amount of funds available to contribute towards vital medical equipment or services that will directly contribute to the enhancement of patient care within the Mater Misericordiae Hosptial for 2011.

We are now inviting candidates to apply for funding from the Mater Foundation for 2011.
